What personal information do I collect from the people that visit this website?

When using this site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, or other details to help you with your experience or activities.

When do I collect information?

At some future point I may collect information from you when you register on this site, subscribe to a newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form or enter information on this site.

I do not currently collect addresses, phone numbers or credit card details for sales, as I don't sell anything from this site. All sales of educational activities are currently done via Teachers Pay Teachers. All PDFs and PowerPoints are free.

How do I use your information?

I may use the information collected from you when you sign up for my newsletter (in the future), respond to a survey, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

  • To personalize your user experience and to allow delivery of the type of content and product offerings in which you are most interested.

  • To improve this website in order to better serve you.

  • To allow better service in responding to requests.

  • To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature.

  • To send periodic emails if you subscribe to them (perhaps in the future).

  • To enable me to send you emails related to any courses you may have subscribed to.

How do I protect visitor information?

This website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit as safe as possible. I use the Squarespace web development platform, and it is securely hosted.

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

Do I use 'cookies'?

A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. Most websites use cookies. This site will use cookies to track your use of the Website and any future services/products I may offer and sell, provide you with a more personalized user experience, and to facilitate your logging in to the Website (if needed). You have the ability to accept or decline cookies using your web browser settings. If you choose to disable cookies, some areas of the Website may not work properly or at all.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser (like Internet Explorer) settings. To access or use this Website, you must be 18 years old or older and have the requisite power and authority to enter into this Privacy Policy. Accordingly, I will not knowingly collect or use any personal information from children I know to be under the age of 18. In addition, I will delete any information in my database that I know originates from a child under the age of 18.

Third Party Disclosure

I do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information.

This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist me in operating this website, conducting business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.

I may also release your information when I believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property, or safety. 

Identifiable or non-personally identifiable visitor information is not provided to other parties for marketing or advertising.

There are no ads run on this site, nor will there ever be.

Third party links

Occasionally, with discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. I therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, I seek to protect the integrity of this site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

In future there will be links to the profiles of Learn with Linda on the social media networks such as Pinterest and Twitter. If you choose to log in to your account on these networks once you have clicked through to them, I have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities you may undertake on these linked sites.

Google

I have not enabled Google AdSense on this site, and will not be doing so in the future.

In order to be in line with Fair Information Practices I will take the following responsive action, should a data breach occur: (this will only apply if I begin collecting email addresses for a future newsletter).

I will notify the users via in site notification within 7 business days.

I also agree to the individual redress principle, which requires that individuals have a right to pursue legally enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law. This principle requires not only that individuals have enforceable rights against data users, but also that individuals have recourse to courts or a government agency to investigate and/or prosecute non-compliance by data processors.

I collect your email address in order to:

  • Send information, respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions.

  • Send emails in relation to free courses you may have signed up for (perhaps in the future).

  • Send brief emails (in the future) containing free printables and other downloadables. This email may also contain some links to blog entries on this site.

If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving emails, you can follow the instructions at the bottom of each email, and you will be promptly removed from all  correspondence.
